ABSTRACT

In surgery, it should be ensured that all practices in the hospital are safe for patient safety. In recent years, accreditation activities carried out in health care institutions / organizations have contributed significantly to the perceived and expected safe health care service. In this article; correlation between standards and assessment criteria created to ensure the safety of surgical practices in Safe Surgery Section of Helath Care Accreditation Standards (SAS) Hospital Set with standards and assessment criteria (AS) in the set was examined. It was determined that "Precautions should be taken to ensure patient safety before, during and after surgery", among Safe Surgical ASs was found to be most associated with standards (87.5%) and AS (52.3%) in the entire set. “Measures must be taken in order to ensure uninterrupted energy” had the lowest rate association with the standards (33.9%) and assessment criteria (14.4%). It was determined that safe surgical assessment criteria were completely (100%) related to Patient Safety (PS) section standard.
