ABSTRACT
The aim of this review was to comprehensively examine the studies conducted to determine the attitudes and behaviors of university students in Turkey on the use of tobacco and tobacco products, as well as the factors influencing on, and to systematically evaluate the results obtained from these studies. In this systematic review, Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus and Turkiye Klinikleri databases were searched using the keywords "Turkey", "university", "vocational school", "student", "cigarette", "waterpipe", "tobacco", and "tobacco products" to identify the studies conducted on university and college students and published between 2003-2020. In the screening made for this purpose, 102 studies were found. Of these, 25 study duplications, 3 studies were excluded due to the fact that the number of participants was less than 100 and 18 studies were excluded from the evaluation due to insufficient data and 56 studies were evaluated. Gender, peer influence, curiosity, tendency, stress and cultural characteristics are at the forefront of the use of the increasing use of cigarettes and tobacco products, which are increasing among university students in our society, and it is important to consider these issues in tobacco control interventions.
