ABSTRACT

Self-assessment is an evaluation activity of the institution, which is carried out under the responsibility of the quality management team of the hospital and conducted for accreditation standards before the accreditation survey. The aim of this study is to reveal the importance of the self-assessment practice before the actual accreditation survey and to compare it with the accreditation survey process. When the results of self-assessment and survey of the hospitals that have applied for accreditation are examined, the result is the same in 20%, the survey result is 5% higher than the self-assessment in 20%, and in 60% the survey result is 7.6% lower on average compared to self-assessment.
