ABSTRACT

Today, quality especially in the health sector is considered as one of the development indicators of the countries. The most important issue of quality programs in health is patient safety. It is undeniable that potential damages in health services are sometimes unavoidable and it is aimed to minimize the health risks in patient safety to the minimum. Some strategies are proposed to standardize business processes to improve patient safety. Identifying risks and planning, looking into and critically reviewing scientific studies, and ensuring effective communication between employees and service providers are the most important elements of these strategies. Leadership is the criterion of fulfilling these strategies and achieving goals related to quality care and patient safety. With leadership, to ensure patient safety in quality management; we can talk about measurement, human factor, teamwork and honesty culture
