ABSTRACT
Originally developed to improve manufacturing processes, the Six Sigma methodology has begun to be used globally to improve quality and reduce costs in nearly every sector. They were late to introduce the Six Sigma methodology into health care; however, the examples in the world indicate that the implementation of the Six Sigma methodology in health care has led to significant achievements. The Six Sigma methodology is implemented in all processes of health care services with the aim of increasing patient satisfaction and care, reducing drug and laboratory errors. The aim of this study is to provide information about Six Sigma methodology and scope of practices in healthcare. In this study, qualitative research methods were used. As a result, successful implementation of the Six Sigma methodology in health services both reduces costs and improves the service quality.
