ABSTRACT

Home health services are the procurement of examination, treatment, and rehabilitation services in the home environment by a professional healthcare team to bedridden patients, patients who have difficulties in accessing the health institution due to various chronic diseases or postoperative needs. Scientific and technological breakthroughs, development and expansion of social rights, inadequacies in long-term institutional care services, and increasing costs in health care expenditures are among the factors that bring home health services to the agenda. In recent years, developments in technology have led to significant developments in home health services with their impacts on the delivery pattern and quality of diagnosis and treatment services.Communication between medical devices, artificial intelligence applications, decision-support systems, tele-health, wearable technologies, safe home technologies, care robots, big data, the internet of things, virtual reality are among the innovative approaches of home health services. Thanks to these innovative approaches, in home health services where resources are highly scarce; Now, it is possible to create accessible solutions using advanced technologies, to increase patient and employee satisfaction, to improve the quality of care, and to reduce costs. In this review, it is aimed to emphasize the importance of technology use in home health services and give some examples of technologies used in these services
