ABSTRACT

Lean Six Sigma, It is a combination of lean and six sigma methodologies. Lean Six Sigma in healthcare is the “standard ideal of the process, eliminating errors and consequently improving process performance and identifying the causes of possible deviations”. This systematic review was made to examine studies investigated the effects of Lean Six Sigma practices on efficiency and performance in hospitals. After the systematic screening and the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria, 11 studies were examined. As a result of the screening and examination, it was clearly seen that the Lean Six Sigma methodology applied in all studies included in the compilation yielded successful results. Lean Six Sigma methodology which focusing on error reduction and simplification of processes, has improved hospital efficiency and performance indicators such as clinical quality, waiting time and hospitalization time.
